Are you a talented student looking for an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in cyber security? Look no further than Fortian's summer and winter internship programs.

As a Fortian intern, you will have the chance to:

• work alongside our top-notch security operations team
• learn about the latest techniques in customer protection
• assist in delivering real projects for our clients  

But that's not all - you'll also undertake a technical project of your own and have the opportunity to present it to our management team. When you work with Fortian, you'll have exposure to different career paths in cybersecurity, including security strategy and architecture, managed security services, security assurance, incident response, risk, security governance, and privacy.  

As one of Australia’s leading providers of cybersecurity, privacy, and risk services, Fortian's team has real-world experience in safeguarding and establishing digital trust for some of the country's largest organisations.  

This experience and expertise provide a rich learning environment and interns who join our team will gain valuable insights into these different areas, discover their passion, and chart a course for their cybersecurity careers.

About you

Our passion for all things cyber is what differentiates Fortian from other companies.

As a Fortian intern, we're looking for individuals who are truly passionate about this field - people who are curious about how systems work, who are always seeking to learn more, and who are committed to keeping our customers safe. You might have developed this passion through your studies, through personal projects, or simply from a lifelong fascination with technology.
Whatever the case may be, we want to see that you're committed to this field and eager to dive in and learn more.

Applicants should note that a demonstrated passion for cybersecurity is a key criteria for this role.

‍The details

Role: Full time, short term contract
‍Remuneration: We don't believe in unpaid internships - you'll receive a salary of $6,250, including superannuation. We'll even cover $2000 in travel and accommodation expenses for those not based in Melbourne.
Duration: one month over the winter or summer university break  

• Winter internship from the 30 June 2025 for four weeks
• Summer internship from the 12 January 2026 for four weeks
• Note: there is some flexibility depending on the applicant’s state and their university holiday dates).

Location: For interstate applicants, weeks 1 and 4 will be spent in our Melbourne office and the remainder of the time will be spent working remotely. For Melbourne-based applicants we will work with you to determine the best working location and schedule.

We prefer students in their penultimate year, so if that sounds like you, don't hesitate to apply.
